Hello,
first post here.

I have a new Silhouette Special (S-S-H)
I wish to change the pickups, but can't find detailed informations about the current installed.
(Alnico, mV output, DC resistance)

I like the original humbucker voice, but i wish a slightly more output, and more definite low ends.
Was thinking to change it for the DiMarzio Norton.

I'm not really happy about single coils; the tone isn't vintage voiced, and neither modern.
Could try the Air Norton mini humb, or the Cruiser Bridge (like Andy Timmons).

In general i want to get a more modern tone.
Any input is appreciated.

The stock bridge pickup is a Dimarzio PAF Pro, IIRC. I don't know what the stock single could are, but I believe Dimarzio makes those as well.

I'm in the middle of redoing my Silo Special. I'm going with a Tone Zone in the bridge, and Dimarzio Fast Track 1's in the middle and neck positions. The Fast Tracks maintain single coil qualities, but can push harder than a standard single coil.

Bridge pickup is a DiMarzio Virtual PAF (DP197), no longer available to the public (replaced by the 36th anniversary PAF). Stats for the Virtual PAF were...

Magnets - Alnico 5
Output - 230mV
DC Resistance - 8.32kΩ
Treble 5, Mid 6, Bass 6

Single coils are custom made for EBMM by DiMarzio, closest match was DiMarzio Blue Velvet (DP170), now also discontinued. Stats or the blue velvet neck model were...

Alnico 5, 120mV, 6.0kΩ, Treble 9, Mid 4.5, Bass 3.5

Thanks DrKev, very accurate!

I was though the humbucker had more output then 230mV, because it can push well the dirty channel of my amp, and i keep it far 5/6mm from the strings.

Probably ill go for a medium output set.
Norton, AT-1 and Air Zone catch my attention.
