Pickups

I have a Sterling and a Fender P-bass. I only use the Sterling at shows because the sound of the P-bass doesn't compare. I want to buy new pickups for the Fender, but don't want to spend over $100 for an EMG pickup. Does anyone know any good active P-bass pickups that aren't expensive, or know where I can get a good deal on Pickups?

What sound exactly are you going for? Although you can get different sounds from different pickups, a precision pickup is always gonna sound like a precision pickup.
