I've been meaning to share my notes and pics from my recent Nashville trip.... so here they are!

Corner Music was a very cool little shop. They had some nice EBMM gear, including a BEAUTIFULLY figured Albert Lee.... I wasn't able to convert my Skinny Stringer friend yet... but a Petrucci is next! :) He said that he could tell that the Albert Lee must have been designed specifically for him... he meant it as a compliment... and actually studied under the same Guitar teacher as Albert Lee back in the day.

They had a number of Rays and Sterlings.... and I was grateful for an opportunity to try out a Sterling. And, while it is a GREAT instrument... its not for me.... but if you prefer its fast neck and distinct sound, you'd love it!

I also found out that I can't actually even stand to play my old brand anymore.... seriously... I've been ruined/spoiled pretty bad now.

But unfortunately no Bongo's.

Guitar Center had a very nice helping of EBMM's as well, again dissappointed to not see any Bongo's, but what are you going to do. They did however have a BFR SR5 Rosewood neck single H that I couldn't help but say hello to.

Sorry for the bad pictures.... Only had the phone.

The SR5 felt nice, and the spacing was still very comfortable for me... I've been a bit nervous about the upcoming fiver, so this helped. The Rosewood neck was NIIIIICCCEEEEE... and anyone in the Nashville area should go check out this beauty.... it really was a steal/value. Still can't stand to play Roundwounds.... but they did sound nice on that bass. As I mentioned in another thread.... the bass guy there let me try it out with the Markbass Mini CMD 121p with the NY121 extension and it was MASSIVE. That little lunch box-o-doom handled the low "B" better than my former "wall-o-sound" and it isn't even as heavy as one of the old cabs.... let alone the whole rig.

Overall a good trip. Would have loved to play a Bongo again... but that will come soon enough.

EBMM makes some amazing instruments... and even when I try now, I can't find anything else that suits me better.

Wow, that black SR5 w/rosewood neck is awesome and could derail a confirmed Bongo enthusiast like myself. It's a good thing I have two Bongo 5's in the oven right now or that would be trouble.

hehe.. watch the sr rays going out and seriously inflicting damage to the region in the brain responsible for sense and control over money ;)

Glad it was a good trip and glad you enjoyed Corner. I am giving them a call today about the new Reunion Blues Continental bag. Saw this at NAMM and it is a killer bag.

Corner is where I got my first EBMM. In fact I'm playing it right now.
