Well I finally received my DiMarzio Evo 2 pickup for the 20th Silo after like a month of waiting. Apparently they are very popular since they were on backorder EVERYWHERE! And rightfully SO...this thing is probably my favorite bridge pickup yet. I also put in a PAF Pro in the Neck which I really really like as well. I had a Air Norton in there before, but the PAF Pro is more lively in this geetar. Also couldnt help myself and switched the chrome knobs to black from my Silo Sp. I wish I could make some clips, but i dont have an amp right now.
Anyway, here is a crap load of pics for all you Ballers to enjoy! These 2 are an amazing pair, and shall stay with me for a loooooooooooong time.

Love the look of it with black hardware. What are the singles you have in the Silo Special?

Roubster, very nice. I typically do not like white pearl, but the black and blue really sets it off nice. These Silo Specials can be real rockin' horses with hotter pickups. ;)

The singles in the Silo Special are Fast Track 1s. Of course inspired by Vinnie Moore's tone. It was weird seeing him a little while back without his Silo Sp.

I am liking the white pearl as well, but I have been pondering about switching it to Black Pearloid. I guess I am obsessed with dark colors.

They're easy enough to switch, so why not. I love that there's no soldering necessary.

Not a great 20th fan here, but your loaded Silo Spec continues to be a great inspiration to me Roub!

(I love to see the Silo Spec in full black knobs dressing..;))

So, what would you say would be the difference in tone now that you replaced the pups on the 20th? For my 20th, I love the stock bridge pup, but am a little less enthused about the neck pickup. It actually does remind me of a LP- Great sound out of the bridge, but not as much out of the neck. The SS on the other hand sounds great on the neck pup.

Beautiful guitars! I would think the placement would be a huge factor here, the SS being after the 22cnd fret and the 20th being after the 24th. Correct?

I just cant wait to play them both through a real nice tube amp. I have a Line6 Spider, but its crap. Its in the studio anyway, and I've been playing through my Roland Boss 8 track recorder which has all the built in effects and amp models. It actually sounds great through that, so I can imagine how they will sound through a REAL amp.
On that note I am building a rig in my head now, and trying to save up. It will most probably consist of a Genz Benz El Diablo 60 Head, with a Rocktron 1x12 cab, BB Preamp, DD3 Delay, MXR delay, Ernie Ball Wah, and some chorus pedal. I cant wait to actually put this together!
