Hey Gang i am in the process of building a new board since i am going back to playing Country Rock after 5 years in a top 40/rock/alternative band,
so i was wondering what everyone here is using for pedals /effects and if you had pics of your board/Rack it would be cool to see, Currently i am trying to put together a TRUE BYPASS board as to keep the noise down simply because when i unhooked all the stuff from my current rig and went just into the head and bottom i discovered a whole new tone!!!!! i just didnt realize how much the BOSS effects were coloring my sound .........so truebypass it is i have already started unloading and repurchasing so far i got the ZINKY true grit and the EB volume pedal that are truebypass just looking for suggestions to what else is out there and what every one here is using as far as BOUTIQUE type pedals....... sorry for the long read

Analog stuffs between the guitar and the amp.
Digital stuff (RP100) in the effect loop.

Beware : true bypass is good but if you have a lot of pedal you lose some clarity (because your signal chain is long). Pete Cornish uses buffered bypass in order to avoid this problem.

Awesome Guys does anyone use a A/B box to switch guitars ,i will be using all 3 of my balls but 2 at a time on stage so i assume that the A/B splitter would work just fine?

I have the ART A/B box that is hidden inside my pedalboard. I feed the Boss Percussion synth and my piezo output into it and leave it on Y. Both signals constantly go into my Jamman.

For your purposes, any A/B box would work.

I"ve got an extra board that i made if youre interested... you can have it and just pay shipping... if you want! I'll post a picture of it later... It's just a board loaded with velcro... and just add your ONE SPOT or your own powersupply...

But I make my own pedal boards to suit my persoanl needs...

The chain is: Boss CS-2 Compressor (Japan) => Fulltone "Custom Shop" Full-Drive 2 => Budda Wah => Fulltone OCD => Solid Gold Soundlabs true bypass Looper (=> Yamaha MagicStomp) => Whirlwind Selector (=> Boss TU-12 Tuner). The Pearl VR-5 voltage regulator powers most of the board from beneath the Boss TU-12, but both Fulltone pedals are chained their own 18V adapter, which gives them a slightly more dynamic, less compressed tone to my ears. The Looper keeps the MagicStomp out of the signal chain unless I'm using one of it's patches; when engaged it meets all of my delay, flanger, chorus, phaser and octaver needs admirably well, while keeping my board compact and relatively simple. This pedal board is wired entirely with George L's and the whole setup adds very little load to the guitar's signal when I'm running through it. It all runs out to my SF Deluxe Reverb or one of my two Tech 21 Trademark 60s (I can chain the TM60s for great headroom when playing outdoors or in big rooms, and the XLR direct out from the amp sounds fantastic into the board)...

EB Volume->Keely Comp-> Foxrox Octron-> Zvex Ooh-wah-> Menatone Fish Factory->Zvex Fuzzy Factory-> Cusack Tap-a-Whirl-> T-Rex Replica Delay.

Has changed since the photo but that's pretty close to my set up now.

Nice rig Thumbtack!

Here's mine (won't be much help, I'm afraid):

That's all I use anymore.

As for the true bypass thing - I agree - I like it a lot for cleaning up the signal. When I was using more pedals ( ), I had a number of Boss ones that I liked. I had a local tech change them all to true bypass - it wasn't too expensive so I thought it was worth it since I liked the pedals for what they were doing. You might consider going that route if there is some Boss stuff you really dig. It's a lot cheaper than buying all new pedals (but not nearly as much fun! :D )

My board

Which needs a bit of work doing to it.

Basically, at the moment it goes BOSS AB2- Cornish G2- EBVPJR-Wah (waiting on EBMM)-BOSS CS-3 (modded)-Voodolab trem-BOSS Super Chorus-BOSS DD-3-Amp.

I'm in the process of putting a couple of pre-amp buffers at the start of the signal chain (which is what the G2 is doing at the moment) and after I've done that I'm going to look at side-chaining the time-based effects.

Here's an interesting read about true bypass...

I kick this all over. I don't have the Marshall ED1 or the RV5 in it anymore. I'm building a true bypass loop for the stuff that needs it.

Some of you guys are packin' some serious pedals!

Here's my meager pedalboard.

68462618.jpg

Straight into the amp is a Boss TU2 Tuner > Ibanez Weeping Demon > Barber Tone Press > Ibanez Tube Screamer.

In the effects loop I've got a Boss CE5 Chorus > MXR Smartgate > Boss DD6 Delay.

It's pretty basic but it gets me where I need to go. I need to reorganize / rewire / re-velcro the whole mess someday.
