Hey guys! I just picked up my new JP6 with piezo and I'm not sure if the guy had it re-wired incorrectly or not as he replaced the stock pickups. Could someone send me a clear shot of the inside of their JP6 w/ piezo control cavity please?

Also, it's been a while since I've had a JP with piezo so perhaps I'm confused on the proper operation. Is there a way to run both the mag signal and the piezo signal through the same cable into an amp? When I run it through the mag jack and flip the piezo/mix/mag toggle I just get the electric signal. :( Any help? Thanks!

Btw just an indicator of how messy his re-wiring job was, here's a shot of what I was greeted with when I popped off the cavity:

Here's the Piezo pot:

Does that look how it should? Anything I might need to adjust to get it to work properly?

I use a 20' Horizon insert cable. It's stereo and Y's in the middle. One end marked in blue is the piezo and the other red for magnetic pickups. It works beatifully. :D

Which brand of pickups did he use? Most companies use the same color wires but they "don't mean the same".
As for your second question run a mono guitar cable in your piezo/mag (the top) jack to your amp. I have done this since I got my JP and I can go from piezo/mixed/mag with ease.

Awesome, thanks so much you guys that helps a ton! I think the issue might just be that he re-wired the pickups AND the toggle and perhaps didn't wire the piezo back on correctly. I'll take a look at the mags/mix/piezo switch tonight too, didn't even think of that. :p

Time to find a new "guy" perhaps?

The original owner had the work done, not me. If it were me I could have done it myself (and wouldn't have touched any of the piezo wiring since you don't have to for just swapping pickups) and not had to worry about it! :p

I might contact them and ask for that info then, thanks guys! :D

Just re-soldered the piezo toggle... problem solved! :D Whoever he had do it had put the two wires too close to each other and there was solder touching. Issue resolved! Man, this is why I learned to solder myself.... can't trust all techs out there! :p
