OK guys, to avoid ruin one of previous Threads, I decided to open the new one, it's kinda Off Topic, but I'm sure You're gonna like it! :)

In next two pics I'm gonna show You my ex-doublebass which is still half mine and half in my ex-bandmate ownership!

It's unique, one of a kind, approximately 150 years old, fixed twice, and have re-painted maple fretboard with dark brown paint. Bridge was broken and I returned it into the 3 strings instrument (G D A)! Under the strings are occasionally visible a few yellow maple wood scratches!

I was using it for a private "home weddings" in private houses and similar spaces with acoustic guitar and accordion players and a singer, with no amplification, or PA support!

First pic is about 5-6 years old, last restrung, my kid was giving me an intonation for tunning (pay attention to duct tape fixing :D ):

After restrung and tunning, short practice testing:

I've been using it for about 15 years until a few years ago.
Today we have young singer who play acoustic bass in my band when necessary, 'cause I'm too old for this s*** ( like Danny Glover :D ).
This old instrument is collecting dust now, it's broken and rotten in my ex-bandmate basement!

I would be chasing that old bass..to get it back into my possession..
Your story sounds like your missing it..

Yeah, You're right, ...but I'm to busy to make a quality repair DIY way and good professional repair cost too much!

Maybe one day, I'll do that, but some parts, like bridge and nut, should be hand made new, so I could switch it back into the 4 string instrument! ;)
