Piezo Battery in active when using off switch on cable?

I was reading about some different cable brands, because I want better cables than the cheap ones I got from Wal Mart, and the Planet Waves cables have on/off switches on them. The piezo battery is always active when a cable is plugged into the guitar. So I was wondering, if you turned the cable off, would the piezo battery still be active while the cable is plugged in? I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Yes, It's the physical action of tab a in slot b that activates it, so there is no difference whether the cable plug is "on" or "off". Unplug it to save juice.

+1, unplug your EBMM when you're not using it otherwise say goodbye to your battery.

Yeah that's what I thought. I just hate frickin unplugging it all the time. Whatever, no big deal.

I know, I hated that too! Now I have my Boss BCB-60 pedalboard, but it was a pain when I didn't have it. I put my JP6 in the case at night (it needs a bed to sleep in ), but leave it out during the day because I'll pick it up every now and then. And when I'm doing something else, I like to look at it.

It's easy to rig up a switch to turn off the battery, but you need somewhere to mount it. Pity they don't make a 9V battery box with a little push button on/off switch. Or at least, I've never seen one.

That said ... it's a good idea to unplug your guitar when you're not playing it. Seems inconvenient until the one day you trip over the cable, sending your guitar flying smack into the table, floor, etc. All it takes is one close call and you'll never leave that cable in again.
