Hi guys

I was wondering if the left handed axis super sport or silhouette special can be ordered with piezo? The reason I'm asking is that in the "buid an instrument" page of the music man website you can't have a lefty + piezo...

Thanks for the info

I would have to say "Yes" you can. What difference would it make if it is left handed or right.....the piezo doesn't know.... ;)

I am sure Jon or others can back me up on this.

That seems like common sense to me too, yet I've never seen or heard of a lefty EBMM equiped with piezo... maybe somebody from EBMM will be able to tell me for sure.

Thanks

Intriguing!

Hey guys.

I'm intrigued by the potential of piezo on lefty EBMMs. I think it'd be rad to be able to have it happen. I know of maybe one guitar left handed that has piezo, but it sucks. I'm waiting on the Petrucci to come left handed, and if it could be piezo too, I'd pretty much wet myself. The mental image I just had is not inviting, but it gets my point across.

No, we don't offer left-handed piezo instruments. It is weird to think that it would matter, but the electronics and the saddles are all turned around.

It would definately be nice to have the piezo option on the lefty EBMMs, but compared to what most other companies offer we really can't complain: 3 models, including an artist model (luke) and that's not including all the different configurations of the sil spec and axis ss that you can order lefty... That's way more guitars than my budget will ever allow :) I would say that the only thing missing from their lineup is a 24 frets guitar.

Other companies will offer one or two of their Korean made models...

At first we had planned to offer lefties with the piezo option, but the little bit of interest we got didn't justify the cost of tooling up and ordering the custom parts needed to build them.

And that's the truth!

Fogman,

Actually, you're in good company .. Vinnie Moore, John Petrucci, Steve Morse, and Albert Lee are all left-handed but play guitar right-handed.

Uggh. The shaft yet again.

Thanks for the reasoning. It does make sense that such little interest would result in the option being deleted. It is kind of depressing now though, knowing that fifteen years ago I should have fought the urge to play like Hendrix and McCartney. I'm beginning to regret ever having started left handed because there is such limited option in general. Damn it. :(

No reason to be depressed, if you really want a piezo equiped EBMM you could always have it installed on a non-piezo EBMM. That does require some routing but beej and dan desy have done it on their RIGHTY instrument...

Yup, you can always install it later. And if you have a geetar with a silent circuit or the Luke - you'll already have a battery compartment, so no routing necessary. You'll just need to drill a hole or two for the piezo wires.

Though perhaps we shouldn't put him in that company at this particular time.

I can come over there and cry for a lefty petrucci model...

would it make a difference?

:(

You might accept special orders at least...I would pay even twice as much...
