Hi folks. The piezo system on my JP 20th Annoversay (JP) is acting up. Basically, when using the piezos and the trem bar there are loud static pops which can be heard. The pops happen when the whammy bar is moved. The whammy is tight (doesn’t swing around loose or wiggle).

Question: Has anyone else had this issue? Is there any quick fix? I’ve contacted Sweetwater first and they arr checking with EBMM and the tech who evaluated my first JP 20th

My JPXI and Majesty do kot have this issue. I’ve done extensive testing with aggressive whammy bar whammying and cannot duplicate the static pops with the XI or Majesty.

Am I cursed? Last summer I bought the JP 20th and had to exchange it since it had this exact same issue out of the box. Now the replacement has this same problem. The replacement had no problems at first but now does.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I haven't heard this particular issue before. However if Sweetwater and EBMM are looking into it, I'm sure you'll be taken care of.

I’m sure they will, they always do! Just seems odd that two guitars in a row for me have this issue. Hope the 3rd time is a charm on this one!

Following up on this…the guitar finally arrived about a month ago back from SW. The good: The piezo issue with static sound is fixed! The bad: the B string piezo is noticeably lower volume than the others. Has anyone replaced a piezo saddle? Is it difficult? I’d rather not send this thing in again…

It's not very difficult, just go slowly and be careful you don't drop the tremolo onto the guitar and ding it.
