Question Piezo question

Hello!

I apologize for the noob question, but was not able to find any information in the FAQ section. Basically my question boils down to how you use the two JP outputs in live situation? Is the piezo output plugged to a PA mixer or it goes to a guitar amp via some sort of signal merger/Y box? How you manage to use both outputs with only one amplifier?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Run the Piezo directly to your mixing/sound board. Run the magnetic to your guitar amp.

If you plug a mono cable into the output that says "mono/piezo," then you can plug that cable into an amp and run either piezo/piezo+magnetic/magnetic.

If you plug a stereo cable into the output that says "stereo/magnetic" then one of the plug rings will be for the magnetic pickups and the other ring will be for the piezo.

If you want to split these to 2 different amps you'll have to get some type of Y cable which does Stereo->(2 mono cables), or a device which isolates the signals for you.

can i just use to mono cables?? 1 for mono/piezo to board the other stereo/magnetico to amp..??

Yes, you can use two mono cables. When both jacks are used, the piezo/mono output will produce the buffered piezo signal only; the magnetic signal is diverted to the magnetic/stereo output.

pick up a used "diversity" style wireless. Plug that into the piezo jack. run that to the PA. Plug the other into your regular guitar rig.
OR run a guitar cable to a DIRECT BOX from the piezo input. Wire that directly into PA

Ground loop hum tends to be an issue.

I run a stereo lead out of my JP into a splitter (in my case an EB stereo volume pedal).
This then splits the "Stereo" signal into two separate mono signals or mono guitar leads.
One mono guitar lead will be the magnetic pick ups signal that I run to my Tube amplifier.
The second mono guitar lead will be the Piezo pick up signal that I run to a separate Acoustic amp. Some people choose to run the Piezo to the PA.

The important point is, that by running the piezo to an acoustic amp and some would say to the PA, the piezo sound will sound sooooooooo much better than running the mag and piezo through the same amplifier.

Thursday night's jam night, I'll be trying a different set up and will run two mono leads from the guitar. One lead to my Fender Blues Junior one lead to my AER (just to try something different in a "safe" environment).

That's my small venue setup Spud, except I use a BadCat Cub II Reverb instead of the Blues Jr. It works great for me. I haven't had any ground loop issues as others have alluded to (I am an EE though, and am very thorough in my grounding scheme).
