Hello there,
Im part of a metalcore band and require the help of fellow excaliburbearers.
I bought a PRS and he string it came with were awesome. As well as being new, i could prodce the sweetest pinch harmonics. Im not a greaqt guitarist so it was credit to the strings. However, i replaced them with 9 gauge slinkys and now i am struglling. Can anyone aid me. Are there a certain gauge which make pinch's come through better? Or am i just ****?
I would really appreciate some advice
Kirky

If the Super Slinky strings are a lighter gauge than what was on there before, try getting 'under' the string a little more when you pich the harmonic. You've got a thinner string now and you have to find the sweet spot with a lesser tolerance.

Each PRS model has their own gauge set-up. Some come stock with 9's others 9.5's, some 10's and even 11's. It all depends on what model you have... and if your Carlos Santana you take the guitar from the shop before the strings even get on the guitar.

ok so here's what guage your factory set of string could be depending on what model you got:

--- from prs faq ---
Most solidbody instruments are factory set-up with 9 - 42 gauge strings
The 513 is factory set up with 10 - 46 gauge strings
The non-piezo Hollowbody models are factory set-up with 10 - 46 gauge strings
The piezo equipped Hollowbody models are factory set up with 11 - 49 gauge strings with a wound 3rd.
---------------------

by the way ... which one do you have? i had a prs for a while and loved it

25" scale leaves a little less room for error too.
i been using 10-42 balls for years.....plenty of harmonics......
also mr. morse actually once showed me how to use the pick in my right hand....while chimming w/ my left fingers. it makes the harmonic ALOT louder.......
