I purchased a used Planet Waves CT04 pedal tuner and discovered that the switch housing would not latch down. The pedal worked fine and as long as gravity exists, it really is not a problem. I saw that there was a small plastic piece that had chipped causing the problem.

I contacted D'Addario who owns Planet Waves and asked them if I could buy that piece. Instead of selling me the piece, they gave me an RA number and I returned the unit for $5. shipping. What I got in return was a brand new one less than a week later in a new box with a leather protective case.

I was surprised and think that positive stories about vendors need to be shared.

Jar,

Oh, I get it!! You were trying to show that there is another vendor out there who is trying to imitate Ernie Ball customer service!!

Well, I'm glad it worked this time for you, but PLEASE whatever you do - don't try it again!!

When you start making and marketing pedal tuners then I guess Planet Waves would be a competitor. If you make a pedal tuner then I apologize and should have bought yours.

I have not had the need for customer service for any Ernie Ball products since nothing that I own has broken yet which says a lot right there.

I did not think this would be an issue since you don't make that type of product. There are goods and bads when you have an open forum I guess. It is a great marketing tool and all marketing tools cost money.

Signed,

An Ernie Ball customer and product owner

What happened to D'Addario suddenly, and the fact that they own Planet Waves?

That's the competition right there.

The thing is that this (and BP has said this a million times) is a commercial forum for Ernie Ball and Musicman. We talk mostly all things EB/MM here which is a good thing. Keeps it simple and most importantly; relevant.

I think your original post would have been in it's right place at the D'Addario forum.
Don't you think?;)

Ok, delete it then if there is no relevance. I was excited to have good customer service for a change and since it was a product that EB does not sell then hey, all the better.

We see MarkBass stuff all over this website too and no one is complaining. I forgot about the D'Addario connection with the strings since Planet Waves is not a string company.
