Hello everybody, I'm new here at Ernie Ball Forums, I'm planning about buying a fully equipped JP model in pearl redburst color (not the BFR one, i personally hate painted mohagany necks).
I have already tried it and it fells just GREAT, but I have some questions about that i wish you could help me with:

1) What's that little hole between the 24th fret and the body?
2) Sorry about the kinda noobish question but, what the hell are the locking tuners? (ROTFL)
3) What is the bridge excursion about? Did it stays perfectly in tune after a huge dive bomb of pull-up even without the "floyd rose locking nuts"?

Well, there are only this 3 questions for the moment, see ya soon ;).

PS: sorry for some english mistakes but I'm Italian^^.

I think I can answer this:

1) That's the wheel at the end of the truss rod. You can adjust the truss rod without needing to remove the neck. Probably one of the greatest innovations in recent guitar manufacturing.

2) It makes re-stringing a breeze. You pass the string through the hole in the tuning peg post, tighten the wheel on the back of the tuner and then tune up to pitch. It means that you don't have to wrap the string around the post lots of times to secure it.

3) From what I've seen and heard (there is a link to a YouTube vid somewhere that a Forumite did) that the trem on the Pet is super stable. It's based around the EBMM trem, which again is really stable.

Your English is much better than my Italian :D

yup ill 2nd the JP trem is amazingly stable, i do alot of trem work, and divebomb occasionally and has not gone out of tune yet (well it did on a new set of strings... but once they were stretched properly they didnt budge)

I'll 3rd that the JP trem is amazingly stable! :D

Plus, you have the benefit that string changes are a breeze compared to a locked system.

+4.. :D

It takes me roughly 10 minutes to change strings on my JP. It's so easy and quick.

It used to take me 30 minutes to an hour to change strings my floyd rose guitars. F that, man.

I'm a whammy bar freak.. I love doing crazy things a la Vai with the bar and this thing stays in tune just as good if not sometimes better than the floyd.. and without all the damn work.

The JP trem in conjunction with the locking tuners creates a remarkably stable tuning situation. It's the best.. and I played Floyd's forever before buying a JP6. (I have a Floyd on my Morse Y2D also, but I prefer the JP trem!).

The video mentioned here was created by forum member Norrin Radd, if I recall correctly. He could probably point to you toward it.

Multi, I'm glad you're a whammy bar freak - ultimate expression!!! ...btw, sweet JP you've got there!!! :D

Thanks bro!

Yeah, man.. I'm all about using the bar. I turn into a different player when I pick a guitar up with a tremolo system on it.. same for playing a hardtail.
