I've about got my plans set for the open house. Fly into San Jose on Thursday and get a rental. Drive to Monterrey/Carmel and take a look see and maybe eat some lunch. Take a long slow drive down highway 1 through Big Sur and make our way to San Simeon where we have a hotel reservation. Get up Friday morning and make our way to some wineries to support our wine habit. Arrive in SLO that afternoon to begin the festivities at EB. Staying at the Quality Suites. Cant' wait to meet everyone. If you haven't made plans already, git 'er done!

If I have my plate too full, some of you Cali guys let me know and I will adjust my itenerary.

I'm planning to jumpseat into LAX on Friday morning and rent a car for the drive up to SLO. After the festivities, I'll see some friends in El Lay and jumpseat back on Monday.

I'm staying at the Super 8 in SLO.

Your plan sounds nice, Larry. Mine is rather more hectic (yet, less so than ernie1966's agenda).

I fly in to SLO via Phoenix and get there around 11:52am Friday. (It seems like all of these flights are arriving within a 5-minute space...)

I'm gonna find my hotel (Quality Suites), try to check in if we can, and then head for the Firestone Grill. The Open House kicks in, and then I catch a plane Sunday around noon to come home.

If anybody knows the best wineries to visit in the Paso Robles or SLO areas, please feel free to chime in. I am partial to Cabs and Zins so I'm looking for the best of these in the area.

A beautiful place for lunch is the Ventana Inn. About 20 miles south of carmel along hwy 1.

It's also a hotel but the restaurant is situated high on the hill with outdoor dining and classy service and decor. Priced in the teens for most items.

A more expensive option, not even sure it's open for lunch, is THE ROCKY POINT restaurant about 7 miles south of carmel. Had dinner there last month. $32 for the swordfish

Best I've ever had (phew), and the view is unbleebable.

A really good inexpensive option, but much further south (about 15 miles before SAN SIMEON) is the Ragged Point snack bar. Awesome chicken sandwich for about $5. and a cool area with tables or a trail down to the ocean if you prefer.

Make sure you have a full tank of gas when you leave carmel. Then you don't have to worry until SLO the next day

Thom & I fly in about 11:50 Friday a.m. (same as Fred & prolly Pete). Check into the hotel, maybe explore a bit. Rendezvous at the restaurant BP talked about. Sunday is wide open. Anyone else going to be around that day? Ideas, suggestions? Leave Monday mid-a.m.

A couple of things if you're the outdoors type, is hiking or mountain biking at MONTANA DE ORO STATE PARK, renting ATV's at pismo beach, kayaking around morro bay.

Bris Vegas. AUSTRALIA.
I'll be flying into LA and then a flight to SLO. But I'm 1/2 thinking of a bus from LA along the 101 ("movie drive"? or some name like that).

I plan to be there perhaps thursday night to settle in. It's going to be a long trip from AUS. I might try Quality Suites aswell seeing Mobay mentioned something about a bar. I have no idea what a bar is ;) but I think I may find out :D

I'll be looking around SLO friday morning. I'll probably leave on sunday...but not too early you know.

(I want the window seats)
