That was a mistake, because I need another dual humbucker guitar like a hole in the head....at least I thought I did. What I need is this guitar and fewer of my others. What an axe! The folks on the forum who have reviewed this guitar are right. Knowing the construction, I picked it up thinking "LP clone", and that couldn't be further from the truth. It's amazing how thick, but still OPEN this guitar is. I love the neck pup. It has so much warmth, yet with an airiness at the same time (does that make sense?). It's also very light, looks great, and of course it plays like an EBMM.

Man, I have bad G.A.S....I'm going to be messed up for a few days....

it has a unique sound doesnt it!!! Nothing like ANY dual humbucker axe ive ever played. really classy tone, not over the top, it just begs you to play it good. has elements of single coil tone in it too, the neck pickup is just fabulous, the sound cuts through on stage brilliantly, it just oozes class.

Rob, you are so right about the single coil sound, both on the bridge pup, and especially on the middle position. I bet it can fill any country, rockabilly, or jangle requirement pretty well.

How do they do that?!?

The one I played had a rosewood board. Can anybody compare/contrast rosewod versus maple? As much as I loved the one I played, I'm think the snappiness of maple might be even better...

And this is not rhetorical....How do they do that?!? :D :D :D

LP clone is not a word I would use to describe this axe. It is FAR from muddy, and the clean tones are crisp, and when it is over driven, it's just insane. Best EB/MM axe ever IMO.

Jon, best ever? Man, that's saying a lot! I wouldn't think of arguing, I really really loved this guitar. I only played it clean, I'll have to go back and crank it through something with some more gain.

Does it come with a divorce lawyer?

Aaaahhhhh! You guys have broken me down! I was really trying to curtail the guitar buying, at least for a while. After reading all of this good stuff about the 20th Silo, I had to fire off an email to a dealer last night.

Now, if Pete would only check his email... :D

Funny ... I had the same reaction a while back ... takes a while for the virus to make its way round to everyone.

I just got back from the Morro Bay Harbor Festival where The Travis Larson Band played. Travis is now using the 20th for almost everything except the songs that require the roland synth.(he does not want to drill holes in the 20th) I keep bringing up the TLB, but they are the only ones I have seen playing this guitar live. I am kicking mice elf in the butt for not ordering one of these amazing axes. I stand by what I said before. IMO the best sounding guitars we have made.
