We played a gig tonight at Club Clearview in Deep Ellum here in Dallas tonight. I took my SR4 and my SUB 5 with me but I only played my SUB 5. Anyway, I noticed that the bass player in the band that came on after us, Escort Service, also had a black SR4 with a rosewood board. Turns out it was a '91 model and it sounded as good as mine. I guess it's just hard to sound bad on bass if you're playing a Ball. I have a trumpet gig tomorrow, so I left when they finished and I didn't get to hear the other two bass players. Wish I could've stayed a little longer.

I really like the round pg on the five string...i never really liked the sr5 pickguards...covers too much of the paint job.

at first, I didn't like the SR5 PG, but now I like it, better thn the pg on the SUB. With the egg-shaped pg, the SUB5 doesn't look as good
