So I was asked over for a nice Thanksgiving Meal and a jam session (in front of the 45 other guests). I said yes before even thinking about what we would be playing. As it turns out I only knew one of the songs.. and we played for nearly 3 hours.
I was playing my Bongo 5 HH, trying to hold two acoustic guitars and a keyboard to a good groove. Poor guy on the keyboard was using a borrowed one and all the volumes were preset for live playing so everytime he changed sounds it got incredibly loud. It got to be funny as the night went on.. really it did... well ok almost.
Playing through my Eden 2x12 and head I had to keep the volume just barely cracked above 0 and had the gain set to about 3/4 which is slightly higher than I normally play with it at. The thing sounded wonderful even at that low volume. All night people were gushing over how nice the thing sounded.
Thankfully, they were nice enough to ignor how terribly I was playing.
No drums to rely on.. two acoustic guitars taking turns "leading" the songs, and not knowing the songs at all really made it a challenge. However everyone had a great time.
I know it's been said many times before but is there anything this Bongo can't do?
