What a fantastic guitar. Keep in mind, I'm a bassist with clumsy fingers lacking the finesse to do this instrument justice; but I know in my heart that it's the one for me. Every position on the five-way switch had something that made my heart flutter. Not only was it two guitars in one, it was two fantastic-sounding guitars in one! Position 1 was nice and rocky sounding, 2 gave a nice single-coil quack, 3 would shame any $3,000 Gibson I've ever heard, 4 was a sparkly tone and my favorite, 5 would make any jazzman happy.

Why, oh why did I pick it up?

And, yeah, the wife said "HELL no." I envy you ASS-men. :p

It certainly is a great geetar, and VERY versetile. In the beginning I never liked it and thought the shape was ugly   !!! But seeing so many pics on this forum made me more and more interested in what it is was really all about. First time I picked it up, it felt different from my Silhouette (of course) but it just felt right some how. Then I just kept going back for more and more to Guitar Center to try it out some more and I just got hooked on it. Plus I became very fond of the idea of having a Piezo, which adds so much more to it. And I even got to REALLY liking the guitar shape....It looks somewhat like a classical guitar with a cut away  !!! And I LOOOOVE classical guitar :D.
Dude you should sell something and get it :p ! That's what I am in the process of doing now, with a Axis SS on order w/ piezo :D!

I hear ya, I'm just a guitar player with clumsy fingers and more gear than talent... ;)

I hope someday to be able to do my Axis SS justice, it truly is an amazingly versatile guitar. I love my ASS! :D

Can you tell me the sound differences tween the MM90's and the buckers. You know the old saying; ask the person that owns one. Since you have both, who better to ask? Thanks.

I'll chime in (probably incorrectly) since I was the former owner of Jason's MM90/Piezo Axis Sport. They sound like two totally different guitars to me. The MM90 Axis is like a warm Tele sound with a warm, full bottom end. Still quite tonally flexible, though.

Ah yes, the old 'wife said no' dilemma. There several ways around this, however.

Firstly, you pile up all of the needless things she has bought in the living room. She'll see how she never uses 90% of these purchases and they actually add up to a higher cost. If she can buy that junk, the EBMM is yours.

Secondly, buy the guitar and have the salesman write you up a dummy invoice. This invoice should have a retail price of about $300 HIGHER than the real retail price. She'll think you got a steal of a deal. She may get mad at you short-term but being a woman she'll respect your shopping accomplishment.

Thirdly, get divorced. Yeah, yeah, the alimony payments, etc will add up in the long rum but you will be free to buy the guitar, correct?

One of these three scenarios should work out for you :)
