I popped along to Cardiff Guitars today and they had 3 Sub guitars in stock - along with the usual Sterlings and MM guitars.
The subs were Black with maple fretboard and white wiith r/w fretboard.
They looked great played great and the set up was really great!!

They had non compensated nuts, non locking tuners. The vintage trem felt good - the trem arm itself was more akin to a JP. Body weight felt heavier than the "real thing".

So great guitars for the bucks.

The shop owner was pi55ed off because he said that the Sterlings impacted on his sale of MM guitars - now he reckons the sub will impact on his sale of sterlings - his words not mine.

Anyways - nice work Pat

Thanks for the report Spud! Interesting - I thought the launch was September according to Pat. I guess I should pop into GC on the off chance they have some too. If I buy one it will be red. I guess I should pay off my most recent guitar purchase first though  :D

The USA launch is September. Some of our international distributors received their orders earlier.

They'll be in all the GC stores by September.

Hey Spud.....

Go tell the music store owner my story. I was newly back into playing guitar after a short....uh....30 year break. I was very interested in a Music Man after playing an Axis in a Guitar Center but was still in sticker shock (realize that my previous guitar was bought by my parents for me in 1969 for $300). I couldn't bring myself to pay for a new MM, but found an OLP Benji at a used store. Bought that and liked it. Bought a used Sub 1 HH/trem in black. Really liked that. Sold the OLP. Found a used Axis SS MM90 used here from a local guy and bought that. Finally went new and bought one of Pete's in-stock Axis guitars.

So the lower priced guitars didn't take away from a MM sale in my mind. I wasn't ready for a MM priced one yet. If someone has a firm $400 budget, they're not out looking for MM guitars.....but can look at a SBMM or new Sub to catch the bug.

I think the owner should look forward to Sub sales leading to SBMM sales leading to MM sales.
