Hi all, new to the forum and planning on picking up my first EBMM Axis. I am trying to find out about the serial number, date, location, etc. The s/n is G40587. Any help would be appreciated.
Also any suggestions/recommendations about making the switch would be appreciated.
I currently play a Charvel SoCal, Ibanez Prestige, and a PRS CE 24. I love the PRS, the neck, the tone and overall playability. However, I love the unfinished necks of the Charvel and Ibanez. And I am one of those nuts that prefers a locking tremolo system. How different is the Axis from the PRS as far as playability and tonal versatility? Also, I understand the Floyd was blocked against the body in the EVH is that the case with the Axis? Would you recommend upgrading the sustain block to brass?
Also, the headstock is not painted like the body, unfinished would grain. Is there any significance to this. Most of the Axis' I have seen have the headstock painted the same as the body.
Any opinions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Pete
