Please help cheer me up...

So I thought I was gonna be able to get a pretty awesome gig at my hospital's Winter Gala but the "committee" canned us. Sort of my fault since I brought up the idea late and they didn't get a chance to check us out before making a decision, but I'm really bummed anyways.

Well, one of my New Year's resolutions is to not let things eat at me. So I'm trying but could use a little help.

I hear ya. Maybe this just means that you weren't supposed to play that time and the next time something comes up, it will be 100X more fantastic! The world works in mysterious ways.

I'm bummed. I quit smoking and it feels like each time I would be having a cigarette but can't a little part of me dies (they were my reward!!)...it's all for the better, though.

Oh, I don't know, BP - you have a point, but I've done a few gigs for the hospital where I work and the double takes when people figure out who's on bass are so much fun!

Gassie - don't give up - I had to try a bunch of times to get a foot in the door, and I still haven't landed any galas, just departmental stuff. Be patient (ha!) and keep your ears open - your chance will come.

Beth - Great job - I am watching my mom make herself very ill from smoking - she'll likely be in the hospital by this time tomorrow. You are giving yourself a treat - Breathing! Hang in there.
