Hi guys,

Recently I bought my first MM bass, a PDN Neptune Blue Stingray 5 HS. It is a beautiful bass, and I love how it plays and sounds. When I first bought it the single coils didn't make any sound, they were as silent as can be but now they are humming when I play in positions 2, 3 or 5. Is this normal or should I take it in to get repaired? It is still under warranty since I literally JUST got it, I'd just be sad to find out that my brand new bass has something wrong with it already.

Thanks for the input!

It sounds like there is something wrong with the "phantom coil" could just be a loose wire so take it back to the shop you bought it from...

I bought it from L.A. Music since it's the only PDN dealer in Canada. I live about 8 hours away so getting it fixed isn't as simple as driving it up there unfortunately.

The only other thing you can do yourself is open up the controll cavity and check for loose wires. If nothing is to be found, contact ebmm customer service or your dealer.

Opening up the controll cavity doesnt remove your waranty rights does it? Im just saying if soldering 1 wire back in place can save you a 8 hour drive, i would say do it! What i would bot do is totally disassemble the bass or something like that.

Always contact EBMM Customer Service.I had an issue with a brand new bass, and they paid for shipping back to the factory.

Thanks! Done and done. Hopefully they'll cover the cost to ship from/to Canada. I paid enough for the bass already with exchange and whatnot, I'd hate to spend more on a warranty repair.
