please help?

[Sub1 Zero]

i just got my Sub1, and it feels great, but when i play at high volume with gain, i get a horrible amount of feedback when i mute the strings, even when i stand away from all of the speakers. its the kind of high pitched feedback that makes you want to hit your head against the wall, not the cool kind. does it maybe need a setup? something fishy with the pickups? i do not know much about the mechanics of a guitar, so i figured you guys might have an answer, maybe you have experienced this before. thanks, and i appreciate your time

It happened to me once on my Axis. Instead,i just turned down the gain of my effect. you can try it out. it doesnt work that way,there must some other way out there...

I would imagine you are using too much gain, just turn it down a little, and everything will be fine!

they are right your just need to wiggle with the gain knob..

also it sometimes happens with distortion pedals. I had a marshall jackhammer and sometimes it happened, very unpleasant feedback.
