Help! Please tell me how to adjust the neck on my Axis...

Hello Everyone,

Well, here in New England the weather has just warmed up a bit and both of my Axis necks need adjusting. It felt a little humid outside. I also thought it was a good time to step up from the Super Slinky 9's to the Regular Slinky 10's. I prefer the way 10's feel and sound.

That being said, can someone please tell me which direction I turn the adjuster if the frets are buzzing. Looking at the guitar, do I twist to the left

By the way, the frets were buzzing before the string change. The blue Axis still has the 9's; I didn't change those yet, but I will today...Thanks

If you need more relief, loosen (counter clockwise, looking from the bridge).

If you have gone up a gauge then the strings will have more tension pulling on the neck. So if there was a need to compensate in this scenario then you would have to tighten the truss rod (very slightly) to pull more against the increased string tension.
Don't go overboard on the adjustment and give the neck time to settle.

Hold down the low E at the 1st and 19th frets, then look at the gap between the bottom of the string and the top of the 12th fret. There should be a small gap there, less than a mm, but not too small. If the string is sitting on the fret you need to loosen the truss rod.

Remember, small adjustments of the truss rod go a long way. 1/8 to a 1/4 turn is usually good for me. Never crank on the TR in full turns either way. Here in AZ I do TR adjustments on the fly with the guitar in the playing position on my shoulder. With the easy access to the TR I do minor tweaks all the time when environmental conditions change. In the summer here it is blazing hot and dry, so not much tweaking then. More in the Sept to Apr months with the rains and variable temps.
