Hi All,

Does any one know of a instrument polish that will remove light scratches or swirl marks without further damaging the finish on my Blue Dawn Silo? I know enough to stay away from any wax or silicone base polishes which can cause a hazy build up. While looking at Stew-Mac website they show some new Micro-mesh Soft Touch Finishing Pads and was thinking of trying them!

Any thoughts.... Not sure if EBMM recommends any type of polish to to keep our balls looking showroom fresh!

Thanks

Haven't tried the Wonder Wipes polish yet, but I can attest that the fretboard conditioner worked wonders with a couple of my old beater guitars that had really dried out boards. Cleaned them up and left them in great shape. I've got some of the polish wipes, but I've just been too lazy to try them out yet.

You can probably use Meguiar's Swirl Remover, you can buy it at Pep Boys or any auto store.

I was thinking about the Meguiar's swirl remover but I use it on my car and it does dull the finish a bit, afriad of using it on the Silo. I think I might try the wipes and go from there!

Thanks

I didn't read closely enough to see you were looking for a swirl remover, too. The wipes are great for general cleaning of your guitar. I have used 3M rubbing compound to remove scratches and swirls before with good results.

Maybe this is one for the stupid guitar related questions, but where can you buy these wipes from in Australia (Melbourne).

Sorry, I know this sounds like a lazy question. I have asked at my local stores but two looked at me like I was an alien and the third didn't stock them?

I had the same problem trying to find them in Melbourne! No one seems to have them or even to have heard of them. Eventually, I found some at the Allans website (Allans Music Online - Home Page). Wonder Wipes don't seem to show up using the product search, so go here:

Fretboard Conditioner
Instrument Polish
String Cleaner

I wonder...maybe it's possible to order them through Colin? Colin certainly has his finger on the pulse of all things Ernie Ball!

3m swirl remover is far better than the EBWW, it's actually a buffing compound so don't use it daily but to get back to factory shine use a nice handtowel or a orbital buffer turns beaters to like new an~ OLD ebay trick of mine!10 minutes o' buff and looks like NEW!!;)
