That was what I was facing for my first MM

I ended up going with the 30th because I didnt have to wait for it. If I ever see a Dargie around and I have the means, I may sell off my Warwick Thumb 5 for it

I would get the DD Bongo as I think there will be less of them turn up in the future than the 30ths on the used market.

However you should go with what really rings your bell.

That's a tough decision. I voted for the 30th.
It's got more special features to it whereas the DD is more a paint colour and inlays.
However I'm starting to rethink this.

There are 783 30th Ann. Rays
but only 37 DD Bongos to be built.

Good luck with that!!!!

Or maybe it's: old school vs. too cool

Anyway, good luck with your decision. It's going to be a tough one either way.

I have a 30th now, and a DD Bongo 4H fretless on order. I voted for the DD Bongo.

Do you already have the DD on order, or do you know of a dealer with one available?

You know the order window for the DD closed awhile ago, right?

Had to be DD... it's a single H Bongo, and it's MOG!

No brainer for me :D If you can, DO IT! I regret not being able to do... :(

One other thing to consider is the finish on the back of the neck.

Do you prefer gloss poly or the Opaque Satin Finish?

There were only 4 Dargie Delight Bongo 4 single H basses ordered.

One is being made for me, one is for todd4ta...

So there are only two others in play in the entire world!

Simply put, I don't like the looks of a Bongo, so of course I didn't vote for it.

I do have a 30th Ray, and it is much better sounding than a 'regular production' Ray. Like fogman said, the 30th has more features not just a color. And the red case rocks wereas I'm not fond of plastic hardshells I end up spending $ to replace.
