Was in a Sam Ash yesterday in San Antonio.
They have a used Silhouette for sale at an unbelievable price.
Only problem is...its seen some action.
It was used by an Airforce band( they sold all their used gear recently to the store).
I was gonna buy it, but upon further inspection, it has several deep cracks in the finish.
I think it's a discontinued redburst color, & sparkly.
Previous owner taped up the back with a lot of black tape where the ugliest finish crack is.
Bridge saddles are heavily rusted, as are some of the frets.
I wanted to buy it because it needs some major care.
Also noticed that there was some good spacing between neck & neck pocket.
Too sweet of a baby to leave there, but was reluctant to purchase it when I saw the neck pocket gap.
According to the store, the guitar has been all over the world, used to entertain our troops.
I'm still thinking about buying it.
How much do u think ebmm would charge to take a look at it & repair some of the damage?
Btw, the neck (as dingy as it looked) still played like butter :), & aside from the scratchy pots, sounded great plugged in.
Advice?

First unless they are selling it for a song and a dance I would not bother, as it would no way be worth the hassle. You would have to pay shipping too and back for starters, and then all the work it sounds like it needs just would not make sense to me. Be patient and keep an eye out and something better will come along.
