Hey dudes, masters, senseis and whoever else I left out, I may have landed a just for fun jamming once a week thingy but my Marshall 30 watt may not be enough. Any suggestions? I still want to use my Behringer V-Amp 2.0 as my you know effects so... I need something compatable and something relatively inexpensive and easy to find. I found this for sale locally, what do you think,

Fender Yale Reverb Amp in excellant condition 125watts of pure power. Eddie Van Halen would be proud. One 12" Fender Heavy Duty Special Design Speaker. Asking $300.00 obo

Thanks!

Which Marshall do you have? What's the venue like? What sort of music?

My Marshall is a 30 watt solid state. The venue is someones basement (I guess I should have made that a little more clear) and its just jamming at old rock and blues classics, CCR, Clapton...

but I do have a line on two others. A Fender Hot Rod Delux Tube 40 watt(600$) and a Line6 Spider 210(580$). Oh these are Canadian prices...thanks!

I would think the Marshall would be ok, but if not that fender is LOUD and would be plenty.

Of course, you need to decide if you're a a tube or modelling guy. Just about any guitar store will have both those amps for you to try out.

I would think your marshall should do the job, if it won't there's a problem. As far as the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, The hot rod is more of a clean channel amp then it is anything, if you like playing with a dirty distortion i wouldn't recommend this one, you would probably be happy with it at first but the more you play through it the more you would want to get rid of it. Trust me on this one i speak from experience, i recently got rid of my Limited Edition Hot Rod Deluxe( 3 tone sunburst maple cab.). Fender's just aren't made to play with distotion. If you was wanting to get a new nonexpensive amp, i would probably try out the Line 6 you mentioned.
Just my 2 cents !! :D

but if I am running my V amp 2.0 processor into the clean channel, wouldn't that do the trick...that's what I am doing with my Marshall. I run my V amp into the CD jack therefore bypassing any effects the amp has...

I don't know, you could always try it. All i know is i even was running a Boss Distortion pedal through mine and it still sucked, but like i say you could always try it and see. Fender's just aren't meant for distortion. Good Luck on whatever you decide to do !!

Hey Raz,

If you're happy with the sound of your V-Amp, then you might not need a guitar amp with a preamp section. A small full-range or keyboard amp will probably do the trick. Plus, you can usually pick up a keybd amp for cheap.

For reference, I play mostly through my PodXT and usually play through a 100 watt keyboard amp or through the PA board. For louder gigs I have a poweramp / Marshall 4x12 cab, however really it's a hassle to drag along. (Still meaning to pick up a couple of 1x12 cabinets, but I digress ...)

Anyhow, the V-Amp will probably sound better through the FX return of an amp then through the preamp input, which will colour the sound. Even the clean channel will alter the sound somewhat, though your ears will be the judge.

Well I bought an amp, thanks guys. I purchased a new (floor model new) Hughes and Kettner Warp 7- 100 w-212 amp...I only paid 250.00US. I read the reviews and I think its for me. It has an unbelievably loud clean channel with effects plugins for my Behringer and it has this Warp channel that's geared for de-tuned and 7 stringed (for my Wayne Custom 7). Anyway I bought it cause I used to have an H and K and I loved it...it was like a rekindling of my youth. Thanks!

Thanks. I think its perfect for this little get together thing...old CCR tunes and stuff, plus I have a drummer that might be interested in the heavier stuff so that this amp will drown out any potential competitors :D

Suggestion

For all gigs I suggest you use 4 Marshall heads looped together into 6 4x12 cabs turned all THE WAY TO 10-
THAT SHOULD GET YOUR POINT ACROSS
