Hi, since I'm new here let me say hello to all of you who might help me with my question. Hello.
Now that I have done that, here is my query. I just purchased a brand new JP BFR F1 Trans black from an online/non-local (located out of state) dealer. I specifically asked them, as they are a reputable shop where they are located, to setup my gitfiddle before shipping. I received it today and noticed that the neck was awfully straight (and I had a horrible buzz from frets 1-6ish, more on d & g), so being a good boy, I jumped online and read the FAQ and measured my neck relief as outlined in the FAQ. Noting that my neck relief was way off (more like nonexistent), I proceeded to adjust said truss rod and retune after every adjustment. Now after three hours of meticulous adjustment, I still have ZERO bow in my neck, and my truss rod nut is almost loose enough to adjust by hand. I thought that perhaps I was going wonko, but seeing as I used to work in a music store, albeit more than ten years ago, I do have some experience setting cheaper guitars up.
I know that I am rambling here, but hopefully you have stayed with me so far.

My biggest question is this: Being as the git was shipped, will the difference in humidity and temperature let the neck bow?
Or, could I have a stuck truss rod (if I tighten it it does put reverse bow in the neck)?

I know that with my PRS and Martin, I had to take some bow out about a week after I purchased them. I am hoping that some of you with more experience with EBMM gits can help. Thanks for sticking with me through this and for all of your help (in advance, anyway).

EDIT: I tried searching for some help earlier, and I suppose that since there is a storm outside my interwebs might have been wonko for a moment and I didn't get any results, but now I believe that I have found some help. Doncha just love it when a newbie comes into the fold! Maybe if I am lucky, I will find my pants soon!

Welcome to the forum! Give Customer Service a call and I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction. If its under warranty I'd think you'd be able to send it to them and get it squared away. Good luck and keep us posted. EB Customer Service is top notch, I'm sure they'll get it resolved for ya.

Doob,

Welcome aboard!! I assume the guitar is new and under warranty.

Just a quick note: a perfectly straight neck is a "jewel". That's why I love Musicman guitars - they're "jewels"!!

With that said, you were just a "few" tweaks away from having the "perfect" set-up!! But, since you already did "this, that, and the other thing", my advice is STOP!

Be patient and call your "dealer"; tell him just what you just told us. He will know what to do from there.:)

Pardon if this sounds stupid but, are you sure you were turning in the right direction?

+1

I had a similar issue with my Luke when I bought it.
I tried to set it up myself and found out after some trials with questionable results that I was turning the truss rod into the wrong direction

After I had noticed that, setting up the Luke to my liking was a piece of cake

And if that won't help:
I had to contact Customer Service for another (minor) issue and let me tell you,
the EBMM customer service is absolutely THE BOMB! I am sure they will help you with your "gitfiddle" in no time!

Thanks!

I appreciate the welcome and the advice that you guys have given me.
But, as far as, "this, that, and the other," is concerned, I only adjusted the truss rod, remembering the old adage, "righty tighty, lefty loosey." I actually thought that I might be turning it the wrong way, so I put it back to where it was when I got it, then I adjusted it the other way, and it put some back-bow into the neck. Thusly, I'm 99.8% sure that I was turning it the correct way to begin with (by the way, I did put it back to where it was when I got it, I sure wouldn't have left it back-bowed). Thanks again for all of your help, and if my neck doesn't resolve itself in the next few days, I will definitely give an EB CSR a call.
I was just thinking that perhaps this was a normal thing for a guitar that had been shipped from one climate to another (from MN to OK).
Thanks again for all of the help and advice!

I'll say

Boy, I'll say that they are great! Thanks Jodizzle! I will call if it doesn't resolve itself by next wednesday. By the way, would it be prudent of me to purchase a proper humidification device for this git? I already use one on my Martin and on my old Viola (after all it was what got my addiction started). Thanks again!
