I was thinking about this for a while, how does an EBMM Forum Jukebox sound to you guys? Over at sevenstring.org they have one, and most members post there tunes...I think it would be great for the members here, people can here how the simple folk sound with these great instruments...we have great players here, guys like Tristan, OC, SteveB, NORM (of course)...and there are many more...so what do you guys think?

I think it's a cool idea- I've checked out some of SteveB's stuff and think it's really good and I've often thought how I'd like to hear the other players on here. I have a few dorky mp3's of my own too.

Well, and don't get me wrong I don't expect this, but the dude at sevenstring.org did it all himself, here maybe we can chip in and take care of the costs...maybe it would push me to get some good tracks down once and for all

Yeah, I'm sure it's probably costly (maybe prohibitively so) in a lot of ways (time, bandwidth, whatever) but the idea is good. There may be other "low-tech" options, like a lot of you have links to your stuff posted elsewhere. Collecting up these links and putting them in a thread might do.

I think it's a great idea! Just be sure to have everyone describe in detail the signal chain. :)
I think that's what we were doing over at sevenstring, posting what amps, guitars, effects, pics, chords, how many beers...important stuff so that if someone hears a nice tone they have some idea as to how it was achieved...

I'm cool with that idea. I love checking out the tunes that you fellas offer up. I have more that need a little finishing up that I'd happily post, and this might inspire me to haul my ass down to the basement and finish recording them.

Maybe, after the Battle of the Bands is done, BP can swap some of the bandwith and server power from that project into this little idea? ;)

I dig the idea...we just laid down drum tracks last week, tomorrow I start doing some guitar, in few weeks we should have some decent recordings.

hmm.. an easier implementation?

Hey! I think I, um.... yeah... I just had an idea!

This forum jukebox idea might be a piece of cake to implement like so:

Just add an 'unsigned forum-dwellers' channel to EBMM Radio! I'm sure there would have to be some sort of certification to EBMM, saying that we have the rights to the songs, etc. But something could probably be worked out.. BP has some lawyers on the retainer, so let 'em do their worst... ;)

One of my internet "haunts" is the ADAdepot forum. We have a section for guys to post hyperlinks to music clips they have created. It keeps the site admin from having to worry about excessive bandwidth and disk utilization issues.

It's really nice to hear your forum friends jammin out.

Also, on the ADAdepot forum, we have created several member collaboration songs. Someone will post a basic rhythm track in MP3 format, everyone takes a copy, puts a solo over it and then all the clips are merged together. It's really cool to hear each individuals interpretation of the same basic track.

Something to consider....lots of fun. :D

Raz.....I got the priviledge of hearing some of OC's stuff he is working on over Memorial Day weekend.......when he is done, you will not be disappointed.

You need to keep up the practice (especially me) if you want that Raz model 2044...hehehehe ;)

Sounds like a great idea to me. I just have to find a way to record some stuff in a decent way then in the near future. Anyone that can give some good advice for not too expensive and relatively good home recording equipment, fire away...

Thanks, Tom.

For home I use a Boss BR-532 digital 4 track recorder, about $350 I think - it's 4 years old.

I either mic the cab or go direct into the recorder and use the onboard effects for the guitar input.

Putting it on the computer I use a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.

Das it!

Now that would be cool, mix and match solos!

Like I said last night after getting my ME-50 I played for 5 hours, I landed this Steve Vai like tone, and for a awhile my hands played with a mind of their own!

Cool. I got my Vetta II dialed in to the "Ain't talkin' 'bout love" and it is spot on! It is awesome getting the tone your after. I play the heck out of that tune. I have other tones that are spot on and it really makes for a lot of playing time and more importantly, FUN!
