Hey.

I came away with a horrible case of G.A.S. after the Bash. Might need another Bongo.

Any other new wishes as a result of the desert trip?

My current Bongo:

When I obtained my Dargie lefty Luke...I considered myself unbelievably lucky.

Now..if I were able to obtain a BFR lefty Luke...I think I might wet myself.

I found out that there was another Sterling lefty H/S body floating around the plant from my Dargie Delight one off project, I WANT IT!!! I don’t care what color (natural/tort if that would be the easiest), but after talking with Dudley I found out that the preamp is the elephant, not the neck. I love Dudley and I’m not going to make a big deal about it, but I’d love to have another Sterling H/S in a non-Dargie (the collector in me makes it difficult to take it out just anywhere) for my main ax… Please… pretty please with sugar on top and my next male child!

I already talked to Pete and if could happen… I got the cash right here!
:D

Dont worry he is at the absolute most awkward age........it gets better just look at brian and dargie

I ordered an Axis SS from Pete the week before the trip, and now after seeing everything they had there I might need another one.

The rosewood Axis SS was killer, but I don't see that ever being available to buy, but the cherry burst and black cherry burst were incredible. I would have paid for either one of them on the spot.

A 08 LE would be most excellent! And please forgive me for talking shop and bugging you at the party, which was most un-cool… that Flat Tire beer had the best of me, very sorry! I can’t remember who (Kevin maybe) was telling me about the body and was messing with my head by saying that it should be cut up.:D

The CFO highly encouraged him to come with me, because she had to spend the weekend with the board of directors, plus we needed a father/son trip. He actually had a good time and it’s funny what he considered to be the highlight. The Jeep tour was top on his list, but not really for the desert, it was talking with Randy and Phatty about skateboarding, he loved that. Seeing Tyler also was fun he said, watching someone his own age kicking ass with the “old guys” was a special victory somehow. But you are right on, 15 has to be the worse time in male development. I only hope my kids turn out as good as Dargie and Brian.

Silverburst, that fretboard looks like something I saw on the Jeep tour.

Get yerself some Wonder Wipes fretboard conditioner ASAP, please! You're killing me!

Yeah, I've got GAS. I'm normally pretty good about keeping purchase urges under control. I only have two basses, one fretted and one fretless. But I might succumb.

silver - play your bongo several times a day in 2hr increments and close your eyes and invision BP & us ... this will cure your GAS for awhile ;)

chuck - just keep your curling iron away from your son ;) ;)

That gold sparkle Albert Lee was a real eye-opener for me. Of course, it sounded great in the hands of a master -- and there was a stage full of amazing players at the bash.

Surely, you mean "redwood." Right, Fred? I just played a rosewood one last Monday.

Post-bash, I don't think I was really GASsin' for anything more than what I'm normally GASsin' for. I'd say my chance to play some instruments focused my GAS more on specific configurations and wood choices. I just found that I liked certain things more than others. Here are some examples.

Silo with rosewood (not maple)
ASS probably with maple, not rosewood
AL with MM90s and maple
AL with SSS and rosewood
Natural Sterling HS with maple (GAS induced at GC on the Monday after Desert Domination)
Another Silo Spec with HSS and maple
Something in Bahama Blue, maybe with sparkles on the back and sides
Something in Tahitian Blue
Bongo 4HS
Bongo 5HH
White Luke

But...like I said, I'm always GASsin' for some SLO products. So, there's nothing new about that. :D

Yes, that would be the Redwood Axis that they had in the one off booth... The Rosewood Axis is nice, but that one is just plain crazy.

Good eye Rob!
