This may sound like a silly question but, does Albert Lee play his HH model? I haven't seen him play it...

you guys have to understand that the Albert Lee design whatever the pickups are is the best design EVER. I used to say that Leo Fender was a genius for the Strat design, but it seems EBMM took that to the next upper level
I'm glad people start to see the light with HH configuration (that seems to be more popular than SSS or MM90 config) and with the Big AL bass making of full range of product.
So even if Albert is not playing he had promoted this unique design for years. Now 15 years back in time, when EBMM launch that model under the name Axis I think the market was not ready for such a visionary design and if it was not a signature model he might have disappear due to low sales.
Today people realize how comfortable is that guitar and how genius that design is, so to me even if Albert is not playing a HH or MM90 he is still the one that carried this model for years and BP, correct me if I'm wrong, is keeping the signature on it as a thank you even if it's not Albert's cup of tea

The "Albert Lee" type of guitar is just a body design at this point, not a direct endorser model. Like the Les Paul, the design is popular enough by itself that they don't really even need him to play them any more for marketing purposes.
Not sure I understand your point. It says 'Albert Lee' right on the headstock - meaning it is a direct endorser model. If you're just making the point that the shape is good enough to make it on it's own, then I get it...

If Albert Lee played an HH model, I'm sure it would have TV Jones' in it rather than the Dimarzios. You know, something a little more Grestch-y. I really hope to see that in the future, that would be really cool!

I am saying that it is good enough to sell on it's own. AL does not necessarily need to play the HH model as much as EBMM just needed to release it in the first place to expand the design's appeal.
Of course, this is all IMO, YMMV, etc.
