This may sound like a silly question but, does Albert Lee play his HH model? I haven't seen him play it...

my understanding is that ernie ball took it upon thmselves to make a humbucker guitar using the albert lee body. ernie ball then asked albert lee's permission to use his name, even though its not a guitar he uses or was planning to ever use. i spose its more or less to generalise the body shape as "the albert Lee range"

no doubt he was given an ALHH as a gift at some point after it was released :)

It is interesting that the JP model is always exactly what John uses, but the AL isn't necessarily what Albert himself uses.

I dig it.

i've had the pleasure of meeting Al a year or so back (just found the picture he signed for me) and from that experience alone i can tell you that Al is the most humble guy i've ever met and i'm sure it's just as much an honor for him as it is for Sterling to be tied to EBMM and because of that respect i see him giving the HH a try in the live application and it working out well for him.

and not to derail the topic but if you look at the sig models and their respective players though they are limited they really are the cream of the crop and what a great example of what the EBMM family is all about... the best for the best... and not to mention i think it's pretty cool that they let me buy one too! :)

I'm glad people start to see the light with HH configuration (that seems to be more popular than SSS or MM90 config) and with the Big AL bass making of full range of product.

I suspect having an HH option opened up the potential market significantly. Nothing scientific here, but of my friends it seems to be about 50/50 in terms of who prefers single coils and who prefers humbuckers. I'm guessing lots of potential buyers lusted after the AL body shape, but weren't really that jazzed about single coils or MM90's. That's all changed now.

Well in one review of the guitar they referred to the AL HH as a nod to his early humbucker days. As one of the true legends of country right alongside James Burton as a session ace, I can definitely see a place in his arsenal for the HH model as you never can tell what someone may want on a track, or maybe it will inspire him to do something out of the box with his own band. I would not be surprised if every EBMM artist with a signature guitar has one of every guitar in the EB line at home.If I said it once I said it a hundred times, I just know personally for me the tweaks made to the AL HH made it one of my favorite guitars of all time.
