I know, this probably belongs in the sting section but anyone tried out a set of Power Slinkys on an SR5 yet?

I tried a set of acme strings on my SR5 (ack ack) recently and soon realized that I missed the feel and tone of the Regular Slinkys right away. especially the low B.

So I have returned whole heartedly to the Slinky fold but am curious to try the heavier guage set.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

How do you tune?

I'm considering trying the Power Slinky 4 string set to go along with a very heavy "B" (G#) string I'm getting from another manufacturer, but I down tune.

I use standard tuning. The only reason I was interested in the Power Slinkys is I like the idea of the thicker G and D strings. I cant imagine a 135 B string as this seems pretty huge.

Everyone always says that the regular Slinky set is perfect for the SR5, so I am interested in the thoughts of anyone who has compared the two sets on an SR5.

haven't tried 'em on an SR5 but have on a Bongo. Definitely higher tension but gives a darker growl. I like 'em.

Nice. I will be looking for a set to try. Gotta wear out my new regular Slinkys first!
