good vibes from the rainforest

Hey Sloshep,
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's condition ... I have an especially big heart full of thoughts and prayers for him, you and your family, since it's been this very EBMM forum that has helped keep me going during my own CVA brain injury a year and half ago ... I still have down times with low mood and down hopes, but the EBMM family is still my strength and source of inspiration to keep going and fight through the brain injury blues ... on that happy note : BIG THANX again to you all for the support and now it's turned over to Sloshep:) lately I was alarmed because I didn't seem able to get a good case of GAS happening, until one night I happened over to the BASS CENTRAL site and discovered the 30th Stingray and I'm getting fresh GAS Pains .. What a beauty instrument and how fine it is to feel the ctamps once again, but I still have to get some fingers wiggling and get a job to raise the funding, or I'm back to blowing bubbles in the bathtub:D;)
best wishes to youand your family again Sloshep .. thoughts and prayers are drifting up from the rainforest:):), hang in there!!!

Thank you all sooo much for your thoughts and prayers. Today we got good news. Has has been moved from ICU to intermediate care. He has a speech therapist already working with him. Tomorrow it will be one week from when it happened. What a difference a week can make. Thank you again, to all of you. :D

p.s. PZO, I thought of you this weekend with the craziness going on. I was wondering how you were doing. Glad to see your still around. Hang in there brother.

Glad to hear the good news, Alex. It's a great indication, that your brother is out of ICU.

Pzo, I was thinking about you recently, too - hadn't heard from you here in a while & was just wondering how things were going with you. I was actually thinking about a "has anyone heard from Pzo" thread the other day, but then saw a post of yours in another thread just a day or so ago. Glad to hear you've still got a healthy case of GAS. :)

keep going

Hey Alex, great to hear your brother's out of ICU and getting on with speech support, I have close friends who are still going through speech problems and it seems to be much more frustrating than mobility problems and will really test patience and strength not only for the patient but family and friends also, but it's very important to keep going and push through, my best therapists shared their opinions with me that it's extremely important to implement therapy aggressively in the early stages following brain "events" and I know from my own experience that the patient needs plenty of encouragement and positive support from the getgo ... so, prayers and positive vibes continue to rise and jetstream your way from the rainforest:):)
and thanx to yoou and Robert and the gang for your thoughts about me ,the GAS shortage was a bit of a concern especially when I lost the struggle to hook my closest guitar pal with a new MM Axis or Albert Lee, BFR, but he's very excited about his beautiful new Les Paul, Custom Antique ... Oh Well, I tried, and at least he's off his Strat buying and butchering frenzy for a while, anybody want some Frankencasters?:D
so, best to you and your brother, Alex and I'll keep the vibe machine going here, so long as I have a full tank of GAS:)

Quick update: My brother has been moved to a rehab nursing home. His verbal skills are back to just about where he was pre incident. They are working with him on walking again. He is being a bit stubborn. So we are going to try to visit him next week. Thanks again everyone. !!!

This should be my final post for those still interested.

I saw my brother this weekend. It was a grueling 5 hour side trip to go see him at the nursing home. He was getting around well in the wheelchair. They have him walking with walker twice a day. He was a bit confused about stuff, but he new who we were.

The best news came just a few minutes ago. He has returned to his group home as of 5:00pm today. They will continue to work with on his recovery. The caregiver to client ratio is 3 to 1 during the day and 6 to 1 in the evening. They should be able to accelerate his recovery.

Thanks again for all your prayers, good vibes, and well wishes.

Excellent news, Alex!

That's a really impressive caregiver ratio. All my best wishes for continual improvement and happiness for your brother and your family.
