Hey Folks,

We have launched the Premier Dealer landing page so you can find a dealer to contact to order the True Gold Luke. Outside the US and Canada there is currently one main contact that will direct you to a Premier Dealer in your country. Over the next couple weeks we will continue to update the page with new items and dealer listings. Any questions please email me at [email protected].

Bizarrely, the two Musicman dealers in Australia that have the largest on-hand stock of EBMM basses and stellar customer service (and also just happen to be the ONLY two specialist bass stores in the country) were overlooked? And a store who couldn't be bothered getting back to me when I enquired about buying a replacement Stingray jack and who rarely have any EBMMs on the wall are now a "Premier Dealer"?

Confusing, to say the least.

Hey Mark,

We still have a couple more dealers in Australia that have to be uploaded tomorrow. Is this info you received from the Distributor?
What are the names of the stores you shop with?

Thx!

Glen, there are 10 Premier Dealers listed for Australia, yet Bass Centre and Bass People are not listed (yet). As I mentioned, they are the Australian equivalent of Bass Central and The Perfect Bass (for example), in that they are specialist (and independent) bass gear stores (the only two in the country). I would have thought they'd be obvious choices, but I may be looking at it all wrong. I do know that this possible oversight is generating some discussion Downunder.

I concur. I would have thought that a minimum requirement to be a "Premium Dealer" is that you're a current dealer who already stocks a large quantity of the product and has not been afraid to stock premium models in the past? The two stores Mark mentioned certainly fit the bill better than any of the premium dealers announced so far.

Jobs for the boys perhaps?

I was also surprised to see Bass Centre and Bass People not listed. It's not because they're two stores that sell MM instruments for half decent prices are they, as opposed to the often >$3k price tag that can be found at other music stores around Aus?

I am really curious if there will be anything besides the contact of the distributer for germany. Session Music might be a good idea, since they have a large and well reputaed online store as well.

Wait a minute...calm down. Also the only instrument currently being offered is a Luke True Gold guitar with a Rosewood neck and EMGX pickups.

The Australian situation...Please let us do our jobs...I appreciate the input...but have you guys considered that this premier dealership may get dealers committed that werent previously?

This is not going to be a custom shop...it will be a series of Limited instruments only available at these store

I spoke with our distributor regarding the dealers selected for this initial launch. As Big Poppa stated the first run is a Luke guitar, and the reason the aforementioned dealers were not listed is that they only stock basses. Ideally, we'd like shops to support the guitars as well and selecting them for this run of limited Luke guitars wouldn't make much sense. This might be a good eye opener for them to expand beyond basses. The program will expand but, they did not want to drive customers looking for the limited edition Luke guitars over to Bass only shops.

That explanation doesn't seem to match reality in that a bass-only shop (Bass Central) is listed as one of the US-based Premier Dealers.

bass central sell guitars as well . . . . . . . . Though the name would imply a leaning towards bass specialism to say the least! I will be interested to see what happens in the uk!

The idea is brilliant...I'm pretty sure that it wont be available in Mexico, I think there is only one EBMM dealer in Mexico, and they really suck! I tried to buy two times with them and it only took up to two months to send me the price of the bass that I was asking for...and the price was insane, what I did is that I took a plane went to Basscentral and bought my two EBMM basses with Beaver, that really is a great store.

I think it is a great idea, especially to get more and 'more special' ErnieBall products out in shops in Europe. I am always glad when I enter a shop and there is at least one ErnieBall product (excluding strings of course).. The average shop, in the Netherlands at least, doesn't sell ErnieBall very actively, or only on consignment.

You can imagine the surprise I had when I walked into a local shop, only to find a LTD 2008 Stingray4 hanging.. I had to walk in twice, just to believe..

On the other hand, the LTD 2008 'Ray is still in the store, so apparently there is not a lot of demand for it (or like me, people demanding, but without cash..).

It would be great to finally see a shift from the 'with FMIC products overflowing' music stores, to a better variety of products!

Its just a shame that musicman basses are so ridiculously expensive in France, I think i'll continue to get them from the US even with all the postage and stuff its cheaper. Its a shame really :(
