preowned mint axis, how much is it worth?

The local shop has a used dead mint trans red axis for sale. I thought it was new until I asked them whether it was new or used. It comes with the original case and tools. Anyone got an idea how much it should be worth? The price the guy is asking is close to the price of a new one and I'm going to try and talk him down a little.

Try browsing through the for sale sticky thread above and you should get an idea of what guys on the board have been asking for used stuff. Also, if you do e-bay, try looking at the at closed auctions. A shop might try to put a premium on used stuff if they've put some time into cleaning and setting it up, will also depend on how they valued it when they took it back.
