First of all hello everyone, this is my first post, unfortunately I have a problem. Just got a JPMM 6 string from the guitar store and the G string will not intonate. Its fine at the low frets but starting at 7th its slowly gets worse. Ive tried adjusting it, but I can't seem to get it right. I lurked around and saw someone mention a problem with the G string not intonating.

Im not sure what guage was on it when I bought it, because I only play D'addario XL 9 guages.(edit: so i changed them) Any home solutions?

I'm not really a guitar tech by any means, but any problems that l run into l just take my guitar to my local tech, and see what they say.

I can't seem to remember posting about this problem, it just sounds like a setup problem, which could happen to any guitar, and since you changed the strings to 9's (the petrucci comes setup with 10's). It could be as simple as adjusting the truss rod, the bridge is floating, did you set that up properly? But as l've said you are probably better off taking it to a tech.

Good luck.

Scott.

Would you know how to set your intonation? Could be a nut problem or several other things. Bring it to a tech.
