To all it may concern,

In January 15th, present year, I bought a MUSIC Man MM961L45500 J.Petrucci Limited Edition (Black) guitar in the Internet shop called
"Music Center" musiCCenter instrumenty muzyczne POLAND

After I’d got the instrument I noticed twanging of the A and E1 strings. At the beginning I thought it was due the fact that the guitar is not regulated, so the specialist – professional violin maker had it done. This expert stated that there were imperfections in the guitar which are serious grounds for complaint – reclamation:
- too deep notches on the E1 and A strings causing twanging on the first fret
- fading sound on the high frets of the E1 string
- twanging on the bass A and E6 strings on the whole length of the neck (even after professional regulation and even during the high action of strings).

Besides all the defaults mentioned above crackling of the bridge can be noticed while the crank and the A string key is used.

I was very surprised that an instrument of such a class can have such defaults. I was told that all the guitar adjustments in the shop had been done by the professional. That means that he should have known about those problems. Therefore I’m stunned that I was sold an instrument which should never be sold in such a condition.

Because the guitar has defaults I lodged a complaint and I sent my guitar to the distributor -
"Music Info" in Cracow, Poland.
(Music Info sp. z o.o.)

When I contacted this company via telephone the service agreed that the notches are too deep adding that somebody must have done it on purpose. They offered to fix it, which meant grinding the frets and fixing the saddle. I didn’t agree to this offer as I believe that a new instrument of this price should never be fixed but simply work. If I wanted to buy a fixed guitar I would buy a used one, much cheaper!

I demanded and official letter from the distributor stating what decision he had made concerning my case, but I still haven’t got one. I wrote my complaint TWO MONTHS AGO. And I still haven’t got my guitar!

I think it’s worth to mention that the guitar wasn’t in the Internet offer of the Music Center shop. I was offered it after I had asked about the white LE MM961 model that was on sale.

I do not know who is responsible for all this mess. Myself, as a client, feel cheated and disappointed.

Hi Kolak

First off, I need to repeat what people have said about contacting Customer Services, they're really helpful.

However, you do need to remember that your agreement is with the dealer who sold you the guitar. If you have a problem with it and need it fixed, they should be your first call.

If the problem was that the nut was cut too deep, it shouldn't need a fret grind to resolve, I would imagine that a new nut will solve that problem. However I'm not an expert and I don't build violins either....

I do have to say that you might not win yourself many friends with a first post like this. I can understand your frustration, but you do need to give the Customer Services people a chance before you post in this way. I know that English is not your first language, but icons such as  and :( will probably not help your case here.

Also, choosing the title 'Problems with Musicman....' will upset people. On the whole everyone here is a friendly bunch and very helpful, but people do get upset when they see posts like this.

I hope you get a resolution to your issue.
