Hey everyone. I just recently bought a 2006 graphite pearl bass (I'm still waiting for it to get here) and i was just wondering if some makes are more rare than others. And if anyone knows the exact number of how many of these were made i would great appreciate it. Thanks for any input.

You will be hard pressed to get production numbers (I believe only the Dargie I production numbers were ever released).

Certain basses are rarer than others... mostly due to color or special options. As far as Bongos go, they are rare any way you look at it. However, white, the yearly Limiteds (r.red, envy green, blue dawn, black/gold hardware, sequoia gold, Dargies I &2... and I think I am missing some), and BFRs are pretty rare. Single H pickups are on the lesser # side (as are piezos). Graphite is one of the more plentiful colors (Bongo wise) I believe (especially in the HH model), but is still a killer bass and not that common.

Same applies to the other basses with different colors running in and out of popularity.

Sting Rays are the exception - then you get into production years too and that opens up a whole different can of worms.
