hey cud, i was wondering how you determine the correct placement for the bridge routes on the body? do you just measure the scale length from the nut and figure it out that way or what? thats the onlly thing that keeps me from trying to make a guitar myself. your work looks amazing though, i really dig your design. I want to make a petrucci copy body out of ash or alder and have a rear routed strat configuration, painted daphne blue or surf green. hahah kinda tacky but i love those colors. If i was in a classy mood a trans white finish would be cool, but then id definetly have to make it with an ash body so the grain could add a nice astetic ( spelling?)

oh yeah... how much did it cost in materials to make that body and neck that your featuring?>

i would so build my own bass.... but that would require money for materials. ive wanted to do that for awhile. ill get to it one day.

If I could do a Warmoth style setup, I'd do it. I can't see myself getting this up and running from scratch like this cat is doing. I'd destroy the thing (mine would look like that Explorer that EVH was playing back in the day!)
 
nope....learn to type. I typed it out, then hit m-w.com to double check. Something got crossed apparently...I can spell (I was in the top 10 in the state spelling bee when I was in 6th grade), I just can't type.

Someone got a towel I can use to get this egg off of me? :)

The bridge route can be determined several ways. One way, and the way I'll probably do it is to run two strings in the low and high E slots on the nut down across the body. Using those paths, you can place the bridge. Of course, if the center line on your body and neck are true, you can use that too.

So far, I've go about $50 in wood in this project.
