When all the strings are removed from the guitar, the floyd rose will pop off the studs and damage the finish. What techniques do you guys use to keep the bridge in place when doing major surgery like pickup replacement, ect.

Likewise it's very difficult to get the bridge back on the guitar. Re-attaching the springs was unusually hard.

I dont have another person to help me. When I get a new guitar, for some reason I feel the need to disassemble it.

Considering making a clamp assy but maybe there is something easier? Thanks!

I always pull the Floyd if I have to take all the strings off - I mark the claw screws with finger nail polish I steal from my wife, loosen up the strings, and then unscrew the claw until most of the tension is off the springs. It's easy to remove the strings and pull the trem then... I reverse the process to put the trem back on... Kind of a pain in the butt, but I never found it that hard to do...

I use a pencil wrapped in tape under the back of the floyd, keeps it from popping off.
