Such as it is, here's a pic of the 25th. I never said it wasn't a beautiful top; it's just not the same sort of quilt that you see in dubaldo's post. I'm no expert, but I don't think there are objective standards for what's quilt,flame, silked, master grade, AAAAA grade, etc. Call it what you will, it's pretty and red.

Very nice - it's kind of a unique top. I would almost call it "quilty-flame" top in that the flame isn't tight like some of the other 25ths and BFRs I've seen, but it's also not a typical billowy quilt top either. It reminds me a lot of the "natural" flame tops you see on Gibson '59 Reissues.

Actually, it does play and sound better than it looks. I couldn't get a good shot of the birdseye neck, it's a stunning piece of wood. Has a great feel, too.

I played one, unplugged, at G.C. a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed.

In fact, and I don't state this lightly, it was probably the nicest playing guitar I've ever taken off of the wall in any store. To be honest, I can't remember what the top was like. I think it was actually white. But I was really blown away at the nice quality and set up. The unplugged tone was very rich and warm too. I was blown away, and I'm almost never blown away.

...Made me wonder what it sounded like plugged in. I may go back simply to satisfy my curiosity.

Congrats, the 25th rules and that is a superb top, not sure why you are thinking its not, a quilt\flame cross is great, al the tops have been awesome and have yet to see one without good to great birdseye.

Again congrats on snagging that, love the 25th

He just said it wasn't a 'classic' quilt top. I never read anything to suggest that it wasn't really nice.
