The only option of the 4 worth buying in my mind is the piezo. Mine is identical to yours except that I bought it with the piezo. I didn't care for the inlays, don't like and won't buy a matching headstock unless I have no other choice. Alright so I thought about the mystic dream, but decided on the pearl redburst.

You've got a great guitar coming, no reason to think that way at all. You won't be disappointed.

When I bought mine, I thought exactly as Fred did. I thought everything was cosmetic except for the piezo. I felt the only thing I'd need piezo for is live playing, which I don't really do. So, I went with base configuration. I think they have a fuller sound, actually, than the piezo-equipped ones, but it could just be my imagination or variation in the wood, I suppose. You'll get a great guitar anyway. I want piezo now, because my last one didn't have one--only for that reason. You know? Why buy the same thing over again? I don't play live very much. So, there's not really a huge need for a back-up.

glad there are others who feels the same regarding inlay and headstock... thought i was the only one.

as for playing live, i don't play electric guitar live anyway. Thats what I have a no-name, Made in Mexico, half beat-up, 30 year old classical/flamenco guitar for. Greatest tone EVER! Better then most "high-dollar" guitars made in spain. thats good and all, but a boy's gotta shred once in a while, right?

piezo? i wouldn't know how to use it if it were a free option. I dont know how to play ele. guitar with clean sound.. read above.

I can definately see why. I plugged a piezo in at GC and it does, in fact, sound better then most electric guitars w/o piezo. I recognize the better tone... but, i just dont have the need for it.

for the folks who need/use that sound for their playing, it is DEFINATELY worth it.

Funny, to each his own. I got the matching headstock, inlays, and no piezo.... ;)

Hey any JP is great, and everyone has their own preference, but for me fully loaded is the way to go, or now a BFR!!!!

I just got a fully loaded PRB JP myself. It is an awesome instrument. I'm sure you will not be disappointed with the model you are getting and it will definitely be worth the wait!

It's funny to hear all these views about the piezo inlay and matrching head stock. There is a spanish saying that when translated basically says "that colors were created because of personal preferences" I deff want piezo's on my MM it's one of the main reasons I am thinking of geting an MM actually. The matching head stock for me is a matter of what the fret board is made of. If it's maple I am cool either way but if it's a rosewood board I would like a matching head stock. The inlay is the one thing I wouldn't want (unless I had a BFR of course) skipping on the matching head stock is a great way to save a penny or two but if you can it's always nice to have.

Awesome, you will like PRB. It was my first JP7 and probably still my favorite painted finish. :)

No Piezo is no big deal. I've got piezo on both my JP7's and honestly, haven't had batteries in'em in years. I honestly never use the piezo. It's just how they were when I bought'em.

I *thought* I'd use it (and it does sound great, well it's not working right on my PRB, but it did sound great) but I just don't have a whole lot of use for it. :)

My JP that is on order is exactly like Fingbeagles except for the inlays. I figured if my initials were JP I'd spring for them otherwise I just want the dots. As cool as the JP BFR is, I still like the original version better.
