Let them use it at a gig and they will buy it.
I recently helped coordinate one of my friends acquisition of a EB dealership for his music store of 25 years. I purchased another SR5 which I already posted the pics. He just recieved a real nice 5 string Sterling HH into stock and knew who would like it.
He took it to a gig for a bassplayer who uses custom Fender 5 string Jazz basses and handed it to him right before the gig. At first the player did not like the narrower fretboard but got use to it quickly. Everyone in the band was amazed at the sound and the bass player was very impressed. At the next gig on the very next day, the same thing was done. That sealed the deal as no one in the band wants him to play any other bass due to the sound. Another sale using the pupp dog close. The nice part is that he is an outstanding bass player who will influence others.
