Pure nickel seem to have less tension than nickel wrap and seem to feel and sound smoother while not being to shrill sounding compared to nickel wrap. So... are cobalts like pure nickel in tension and feel, but sound more like stainless-nickel wrap combined? I know one should try cobalts to experience the difference, but would like to here from others opinions.

Just to avoid confusion - normal Slinkys are nickel-plated steel wrap. Classic rock'n'roll Slinkys are pure nickel wrap and are warmer sounding. I can't tell you how they compare in tension but Cobalts are slightly lower in tension in the normal Slinkys. The differences in tone are mostly due to the type of wrap on the wound strings, not the differences in tension.
