Do the pure nickel slinkys have a warmer tone that can dial in an old school P bass thump with clarity? I just bought some TI Power bass nickel wound and like them but I got them at half price $25. And how long do they last for you? I like the sound of the regular slinky but want to tone some of the growl down for a old style sound when needed.
Please advise as to the tonal qualities and longivity of these strings.

Also, I would like to know if the .055-.110 Power Slinky's are nickel wound and similar in sound to the TI Power Bass strings.

No one has an opinion here...
Maybe I can rephrase the question:
Does anyone have any comments on the Ernie Ball Power bass strings?
I am looking for a string with more presence and a little less growl out of the D and G string. I love the sound of the A and E on my Sterling.
