Exactly! I saw this thread while at work and immediatly looked it up on my phone bc I was going to call and throw some cash on it. Then i saw the picture... The next one I buy is going to be as near mint as possible.

I agree. That's what steered me away.

5 Star EVH Amber at guitar center used site. The fretboard looks dirty, but just thought I would post for those interested. Don't really come here much anymore...

Had them email me pics of this last week , and it is NOT anywhere close to five star. I would call it a $1700 - $1800 Guitar, with a less than figured top ...............

I wish I could actually pick up a collectors condition of this guitar for a reasonable price. Can't find an honest listing of a mint evh... Usually, listed as mint, but then ends up being lesser condition.

I know of 2 right now, one in almost dead mint in amber quilt and one unplayed red quilt. I cant detail anything yet bc i am trying to pick up both...the amber is located right next to me and the red is about a 6 hour drive. All i can say is, if the red works out the way i want to, i'll score that for under 1000!

Kewl. There's something about that evh stamp that blows the axis out of the water. I hope it works for you.

Having owned the axis and evh's side by side, i dont care what anyone says, they dont sound exactly the same. Plus i like the feel of the evh neck more. And im a huge van halen fan so that little sig at the top makes all the difference for me
