I feel I should set the record straight in regard to my post
http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/43177-pole-piece-design-question.html
about a few things since I'm getting publicly reprimanded without a way to reply.
First of all, I didn't use caps to make any point other than to point out to a poster that I didn't come to a conclusion from a drawing but rather from working on my bass (or, as I put it for emphasis, MY BASS). The only other caps I used were normal usage. Caps were, however, used to "yell" at me, so I don't get that one.
The Toyota comment was directed at another forum poster to point out the similarity between his claim that since he didn't notice a problem then it probably doesn't exist and I should just play more. I was making an analogy, not comparing a Musicman bass to a Toyota in terms of being a life-threatening recall issue. Sheesh. For those who followed the Toyota story, Toyota made believe the problem didn't exist, which is what the other poster's comment reminded me of. That's all it was. I never expected anyone to take it so literally. Just an analogy.
A couple of posters also felt it necessary to mock me. But I guess that's fine since I'm a new guy with a complaint.
And I never said that "people suck". I thanked those with constructive comments and said the attitude of some on the forum sucked.
That's a big difference.
I criticized the actions of some, I never said I thought they "sucked" as people. I judged actions, not the person.
I find it interesting that I get scolded for making some points, yet the folks who mocked me get no mention at all in this.
I was told to be tolerant of others - I was the one who was mocked and when I took a stand I'm told I need to be tolerant of others.
Look, I like my bass, I wanted one for a long time and I want to make it work for me - otherwise I would have just returned it and moved on. I just wanted to know why something is the way it is, and if it contributed to things I noticed.
